Week-Long Get-A-Way...

This week Robert and I have had the privilege of "vacationing" in Lebanon, PA, a place I would not have typically associated with being a hotspot or summer getaway, but have been absolutely amazed by this little city located just outside of Hershey. The colonial bed & breakfast (left) we've been staying at is absolutely beautiful and sits on several acres of land, adorned with gardens and a lawn perfect for the croquet lover in us all.
Last night we decided to hop in the car and venture out for a bite to eat and see what we could find. After driving several miles past fields and farms filled with cows, we stumbled upon the tiny Victorian village of Mt. Gretna. This town with a population of no more than 500 people seems to be a scene right out of fairytale as it sits hidden within a wooded forest. I kept waiting for a little elf or hobbit to just jump out from behind one of the cottages. In the middle of this "hidden village" is none other than an ice cream shop! Who would've thought...I was in heaven! The "Jigger Shop," which resembles a 60's soda shop is a hang out for the locals and best known for their "Jigger Sundae," which seems to attract tourists from all over the country. The food was delicious and the ice cream hit the spot.
